Simple DIY Necklace

Like most little girls, my daughter loves to make jewelry. As she grows older, she's drawn more and more to real beads and silk thread rather than the plastic ones we used to use. And because I'm not a jewelry maker, I've had to come up with ways to make simple, but lovely pieces of jewelry that she really loves. My favorite supply right now is the bead cord you see above. It is silk, comes in lots of colors and has a wire 'needle' already attached so it is simple to use.

With a few mother-of-pearl beads, bead cord and a few knots, we made the simple necklace above. One that both my daughter and I can wear.
